| Phatthalung Phatthalung is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. The neighboring provinces are (north to the right) Nakhon If Thammarat, Songkhla, Satun and Trang.
The province is located in the Malayan Peninsula. Al this it borders the large superficial lake of Songkhla, while the west is covered by mountains of the chain of Nakhon If Thammarat. The Khao Pu - Khao Already the National Park is located in these mountains in the border to Trang.
During the reign of King Ramathibodi I of the kingdom of Ayutthaya in the 14th century Phatthalung came I be one of twelve real cities.
