| Trang Trang (also Muang Thap Thiang) is the one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, in the western coast of the Sea of Andaman. The neighboring provinces are (north to the right) Krabi, Nakhon If Thammarat, Phatthalung and Satun.
The province is located in the coast of the Sea of Andaman, and contains 46 islands along with the area of continent. There is only few plains, and most of the area are the hills. The Khao Luang and the mountain range of Banthat are the sources of the two main rivers of the province, the River of Trang and the River of they Alleviate.
Trang was an important port of the sea of Thailand southern. According to legend that the ships always arrived in the morning, that carries al name of the town - Trang drift of the Malayan word by the dawn. Really, the town was located in the Khuanthani (now a tambon in the district Kantang). In 1893, the then governing one Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi, planning to do Trang an important maritime port al western, transferred the town al district Kantang that is in delta of Trang. It was moved again to his present location 26 interior of the km in 1916 by King Branch I SAW due to repeated floods.
The area of Trang was the first area of Thailand where rubber were planted, he was brought there by governing Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi of Malaya in 1899.
