Surat Thani is the largest one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, in the oriental coast of the Gulf of Thailand.  The Surat Thani signify the City of Good People, the title given to the city by King Vajiravudh (Branch I SAW). 

The neighboring provinces are (north to the right) Chumphon, Nakhon If Thammarat, Krabi, Phang Nga and Ranong. 

Geographically the center of the province is the coastal plain of the river of Tapes, in its greater part field and some mangrove.  In the west they are mountains of limestone of the range of Phuket they covered in their greater part with forests.  The Khao Sok the National Park is located in these mountains.  Al this the hills of the Nakhon If Thammarat (or Bantat) the beginning of mountain range to rise, protected in the Yen of read-only of Tai the National Park.  Many islands in the Gulf of Thailand belong al district, inclusive the islands of tourist Korea Samui, Pha-ngan of Korea, Korea Tao, as well as the Strap of Korea Ang the marine national park.  The main rivers of the province of Gentlemen of Surat are the Rivers of Tapes and Rivers of Phum Duang, that both drain in the Bay of Bandon. 

The areas still most protected are the Khlong Phanom and Kaeng Krung the national park, That Pha-Ngan of Sadet-Korea the marine national park, the areas of not-hunting Khao Tha Phet and Strap of Nong Thung and the fauna they preserve Khlongsaeng and Khlong Yan.  The Hat Khanom - Mu Korea Thale Tai, that will contain a few small south of the island of Korea Samui, is at present in process of the creation.
