Ranong

Ranong is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, in the coast al Sea of Andaman.  Is the province with the loslos less civic.  The neighboring provinces are (north to the right) Chumphon, Gentlemen of Surat and Phang Nga.  Al western also borders Myanmar. 

Ranong is located in the Isthmus of Kra, throws it narrow that connects continent Thailand with the Malayan Peninsula, in the western side of the mountain range of Phuket.  Has a long coast in the Sea of Andaman.  The province is known to have the the majority of the rains of every Thailand, the rainy season that hard for about of 8 months.  In 1955 the annual rain reached 6699,5 Mm, compared to about of 1200 in Thailand central.  This carried al retruécano that the name Ranong is in fact taken of the English rain in - although the name be pronounced really ra-nawng. 

The province is the province less populated of Thailand, 80% of the area is cover by forests, and 67% is land of mountanous.  Historically the greater industry was the mining industry of tin, but the majority of the mines are exploited already now.  The white mining industry of the clay for the production of porcelain and fishing is the main industries today, along with the agriculture of rubber and anarcado. 

The Reserve of Biosphere of Ranong in the al north of Amphoe Kapoe that covers 303,09 km² was declared in 1997.  It is the biosphere reserve quarter of Thailand, but of the unique one located in the coast to protect the forests of the mangrove.
